Environmental Protection Policy
The company endeavours to achieve environmental excellence in all aspects of business. The Company is committed to:
- Establish Environment Management System as a part of our Quality Management System, which complies with International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL); other marine environment protection laws, rules and regulations as established by flag states, port states, coastal state laws, best industry practices and other applicable requirements. The Company strives to further reduce the environmental impact of operations by volunteering and co-operating with shipping community environmental protection activities. The Company maintains emergency procedures aimed at mitigating damage to the environmental and human impacts in potential emergency situations.
- Establish Environment Management System in line with ISO 14001:2015. It also forms part of the Safety Management System certified for compliance to ISM code as amended. The Company strongly endeavours all identified risks to their vessels, facilities (FPSO / FSO), offshore installations, personnel and the environment and established appropriate safeguards.
- Prevent pollution including protection of the environment and zero pollution incident rate. The Company undertakes to ensure utmost care and all possible actions, within its available capability and resources are taken to prevent pollution through safe operation of managed vessels and efficient operations in the office. The Company exercises a zero-tolerance approach to any non-compliance / violation to the Environment Management System.
- Inform, raises awareness among all employees with regards to the Company’s environmental protection policy, objectives, procedures, targets and their individual duties. The Company ensures compliance with environmental goals and strategies through regular training and guidance.
- Seeks to reduce consumption of materials, re-use rather than discard where practicable, and promote recycling and the use of recycled materials. The Company encourages suppliers to continually reduce the impact of their operations by giving preference to environmentally friendly products whenever it is economically feasible.
- Continual improvement in environment performance by updating, monitoring, controlling environmental hazards and risks where specific objectives and targets will be set and reviewed on an annual basis.

At Thome the inclusion of process safety measures has been a core practice for years, embracing process safety thinking to make the final leap to incident-free operating environments.
We conduct our vessel operations and business activities in a manner which protects the health and safety of employees working under our controlled supervision.
Our mission for ‘Zero Accidents’ can be achieved by establishing a strong safety culture at all levels within our organisation.
